Washi is a traditional Japanese handmade paper made from natural plant fibers such as kozo (mulberry), mitsumata, and gampi. Its careful production process—stripping, boiling, washing, and beating the fibers into pulp, then forming and drying the sheets on bamboo screens—results in paper that is remarkably strong yet softly translucent. Valued for both its beauty and durability, washi has been used for centuries in calligraphy, origami, lighting, and architectural features like shoji screens, embodying Japan’s rich cultural heritage and refined sense of design.

Washi lanterns are made from traditional Japanese handmade paper, prized for its durability and natural translucence. The process starts with a lightweight frame—typically bamboo or wood—onto which carefully cut sheets of washi are shaped and hand-applied. When illuminated, the paper diffuses the light into a soft, warm glow that conveys calm and understated elegance. HONEST REVIEW: Dont waste your money: 2001 330Ci (pre-LCI)

I tried these because the reviewer's pictures look like these would work. I will assume the integrity of the reviewer and their word that the grills in the pictures are legitimately this brand grills. Which means something terrible happened to the manufactures molds from the time the reviewer got theirs to the time I received mine. I ordered the correct ones for my pre-facelift model and the quality looked promising however the top edge was inset about a 1/4 inch from the OEM one and they wiggled around to the point that there was NO CHANCE of them staying in on the way out of my garage. Don't waste your time and money. Just spend the extra $50 to get the ones from bimmerworld.
