The Hollyland LARK A1 Combo 2-Person Wireless Microphone System (Mint Green) is a compact, plug-and-play audio solution engineered for smartphone content creators, vloggers, and mobile journalists. Dressed in a vibrant Mint Green finish, this system injects a modern, lifestyle-driven aesthetic into professional content creation while maintaining a highly discreet on-camera profile.

The Combo edition maximizes cross-platform utility by bundling two ultra-lightweight transmitters, a USB-C plug-in receiver, and an Apple MFi-certified Lightning receiver into a single, unified ecosystem. This configuration allows creators to alternate seamlessly between various generations of iPhones, Android devices, iPads, and laptops without ever fumbling with separate microphone kits or clumsy adapter cables.

High-Resolution Audio with Transient Headroom

Despite its minimalist, fashion-friendly exterior, the LARK A1 features advanced internal processing designed to deliver broadcast-quality vocal reproduction:

  • Lossless Audio Ingest: Records native 48 kHz / 24-bit linear WAV files, preserving excellent dynamic range and tonal warmth across human speech patterns.

  • 120 dB Max SPL Tolerance: The omnidirectional internal capsules easily absorb sudden, transient volume spikes—such as high-energy laughter, cheers, or loud ambient noises—preventing digital clipping and audio distortion.

  • Intelligent Auto-Limit Protection: Uses an internal hardware limiter that continually monitors and smooths out drastic volume fluctuations in real time, saving your audio track from ruining a take during dynamic, unpredictable shoots.

Deep Learning Noise Control and Creative FX

The system adapts seamlessly to harsh acoustic environments, utilizing the companion LarkSound App (available for iOS and Android) to shape the sonic character of the recording:

  • 3-Level Adaptable ENC: Features a flexible Environmental Noise Cancellation algorithm that can be cycled through Weak, Medium, or Strong parameters. It suppresses low-frequency rumbles, street traffic, and wind noise while keeping the host vocals completely natural and uncompressed.

  • Acoustic Scene Modeling: The app unlocks tailored EQ Presets (Balance, Low, and Bright) to match different voice tones, alongside adjustable Reverb Modes (Small, Medium, or Large) to simulate spatial depth.

  • Physical One-Touch Controls: The transmitters feature physical buttons for fast, on-body adjustments. A single click toggles noise cancellation, a double click activates a localized mic mute, and a triple click can trigger video recording on compatible host smartphones.

Modular Dual-Connector Architecture

The standout core feature of the A1 Combo is its hot-swappable digital receiver array. Because both receivers draw direct bus power from the connected mobile device, they require zero cables to operate:

  1. USB-C Receiver: Plugs directly into modern iPhone 15/16 models, contemporary Android hardware, iPads, and USB-C computers.

  2. Lightning Receiver: Offers native compatibility with classic Lightning-equipped iPhones (iPhone 14 and older).

  • Pass-Through Power Flow: Both receivers are engineered with an external USB-C port on the side chassis. This allows creators to attach a power bank or wall block during production, delivering pass-through power straight to the host phone to prevent battery drain during long livestreams or mobile podcasts.

54-Hour Endurance Over 2.4 GHz Channels

Utilizing an advanced 2.4 GHz digital adaptive frequency hopping layout, the LARK A1 hunts for clean RF pathways to ensure a rock-solid 650-foot (200-meter) line-of-sight range with an imperceptible latency rating under 20 milliseconds.

The system is highly optimized for long-form remote deployments. While each individual transmitter delivers an extensive 9 hours of runtime per charge (reduced slightly to 6.5 hours when running aggressive ENC processing), the heavy-duty travel case houses a fast-charging cell capable of replenishing the mics multiple times over. By alternating transmitters while shooting, production teams can hit up to 54 hours of combined continuous runtime before the system requires an outlet.

What a ride.
Format: Paperback
How these two come together with the rest of the iconic characters is just so fun. Add in a Screaming Citadel and you're in for one hell of a ride. If you love Star Wars, pick it up. It could read as a stand-alone if needed. Part of the Doctor Aphra comics.

Absolutely top-knotch
Format: Kindle
9.5/10 This is the pinnacle of Star Wars comic books. A great way to tie in their Indiana Jones character in Aphra and the mainline series to tell an amazing story. Only complaint is a couple of the issues artwork I was not a fan of. I like the more realistic look. Just make sure you read Aphra book 1 and the previous SW books to understand it better. Aphra book 1 being more important

Star Wars embraces fantasy
Format: Paperback
This is Star Wars at its' strangest, and that's a very good thing. Luke and co. fighting through what could easily be Dracula's castle is a truly unique experience. I don't wish to say more for fear of spoilers. As a note though you will get more out of this if you've been following the Star Wars and Dr. Aphra comics. However you can get by without that knowledge as well.

Gothic Star Wars
Format: Paperback
This trade paperback collects all the issues for the Screaming Citadel story spread over several titles, including the main stay Star Wars series and the Dr Aphra book. As one might expect from a story spread over different titles with different artists and writers, the presentation varies. The art is all over the place. In the Marco Checchetto-drawn initial issue, everyone’s favorite amoral artifact hunter, Dr Aphra, is a striking space vixen. But in the following issues she’s hardly recognizable as the same character--mousier, if still menacing, in her trademark Russian tanker’s hat. To a lesser degree, the same is true for the other characters, including the main SW group. It’s understandable, but a bit disconcerting. The story centers on Dr Aphra, who, in need of a Jedi for one of her typically nefarious purposes, recruits Luke into her scheme. Unfortunately for Aphra, she’s up against a more ruthless foe in the harlequin-looking vampire-like Queen of the Screaming Citadel. Before long, the rest of the group has to show up to rescue them. It’s a gothic story, set in scary castle—not the usual Star Wars fare. There are some good points. Dr Aphra’s almost sociopathic outlook is always good for a few choice lines, the “murderous machines” Bee Tee and Triple Zero are on hand for their own gruesome commentary and some of the Queens hench-people, while not given much to do, are interestingly designed. But overall, the horror movies plotline didn’t seem much like Star Wars to me. Recommended for those who enjoy that type of story, or completists.

Luke and Doctor Aphra team up!
Format: Paperback
This is the second crossover event in the Marvel Star Wars comics. It brings the ongoing Doctor Aphra and Star Wars series together. I liked the pairing of Luke with Aphra. They play well off of each other with Luke's naive goodness and Aphra's experienced gray morality. I liked when she called him a wannabe padawan. There are some well designed characters in this comic. The residents of the Screaming Citadel have a goth bdsm vibe. Luke even gets to dress up. I liked seeing him in something different. I want to know more about Sana and Aphra's past!!! Please, Marvel, make a queer love story prequel!!! The murder droids are wonderful. Having them on the same side as the "good guys" for at least the time being led to some funny situations. The last panel intrigued me. I give this graphic novel a 4/5. I am always here for more Doctor Aphra!
