100% ZQ Merino 200gsm. Made and designed with love in NZ.

Sizes 1-4yrs $65 / Size 5yrs $75

Colours available - Rose / Raspberry / Navy / Olive Green

Our top quality NZ made Merino garments are easy care, and designed to be washed over and over again.

As with all wool products, the best way to extend and maintain their "life" is to hand wash using a mild wool detergent. However as most of us are busy Mums and Dads without a second to spare, Machine Washing is also totally acceptable, but the use of a mild wool detergent is necessary, and on a warm cycle.

As Merino is naturally stain and odour resistant, it is not necessary to wash the garments after every wear (unless of course they are covered in spaghetti sauce / paint / last nights' dinner!) Airing of the garments between wears will easily suffice, and save you valuable washing time!

WHY DOES MY MERINO GET MOTH HOLES?

Moths love merino wool. Protecting your merino from moths is one way to ensure you get maximum use out of your product. There is nothing worse then finding a dreaded moth hole in your expensive merino items.

Moth holes are typically hard to spot until the garment has been washed. Larvae weaken the threads in merino by chewing the fibres that snap in the washing machine, leaving you with unfortunate holes.

A single moth can deposit as many as 200 eggs at a time, infesting your precious merino with tiny larvae. Preventative measures should be taken to reduce the risk of infestation.

WHAT DO MOTH HOLES LOOK LIKE?

Moth holes are often mistaken for just a snag or pull in the fabric. Many people do not consider the possibility of moth holes because they do not see any moths. This is often the case.

The best way to reduce moth damage is to reduce the risk of infestation before they arrive. This includes storing merino appropriately and some easy home recipes.

MERINO STORING TIPS:

  • Wash clothing before storing
  • Store in a dry place
  • For extra protection, store merino in airtight containers/bags
  • Routinely vacuum wardrobes, drawers and behind furniture
  • If you suspect moths have found your merino, freezing, dry-cleaning or tumble drying on a high heat (if possible) will kill any larvae that cannot be seen.

HOW DO I GET RID OF ADULT MOTHS?

Getting rid of a moth infestation can be tricky. This is because you need to kill the adult moths and moth larvae differently. See our 'How to kill clothes moths' blog for better guide.

  • Remove and wash all at-risk clothing
  • Thoroughly wipe down and vacuum all surfaces in your closets
  • Use aerosol sprays, pheromone traps or a natural remedy to kill and repel future moths

NATURAL HOME REMEDIES

Many people buy moth balls to keep the moths away. However, leaving pesticides around is not always ideal in a family household.

The following ingredients work wonders for preventing moths when kept in your wardrobe:

  • Cedar chips
  • Dried lavender
  • Eucalyptus
  • Rosemary
  • Cloves
  • Mint
  • Thyme
  • Drive lemon/orange peel
  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Peppercorns

You can mix and match these to create little smelly bags to keep with your merino.

Put about ¼ to ½ a cup of your desired herb blend in cheesecloth, muslin ( Babu gauze muslin wash cloths or the bag they come in work great) or even cut up old pantyhose.

These can be stored in drawers, wardrobes and under beds to keep the moths away. Scrunch the smelly bag every now and then to release more of the scent. Refill if the bag is no longer releasing a smell.

My dogs love fetching this toy, then fighting over who’s going to bring it back to me
Both of my miniature dachshunds took to this tug of war toy immediately after opening it. I liked the fact it didn’t smell terrible like most of the scented dog toys I’ve purchased in the past. Instead this one actually smells good, it’s sweet and fruity smelling. It’s extremely durable and very heavy duty. The only problem is that it’s pretty thick and heavy, especially for my small dogs. They still like playing fetch with it, then fighting over which one gets to bring it back to me. It really would have been the perfect fetching toy for them, if only it had been a little bit smaller and lighter. If you have larger sized dogs who enjoy playing fetch and tug a war, I’d recommend giving it a try.

Good Quality Toy, but Not a Hit with My Dogs
I am a bit unsure about this toy. Unfortunately, my dogs do not seem to enjoy it very much. I thought the blueberry apple scent would make it more appealing, but they tend to lose interest almost as quickly as they start playing with it. I was hoping this would be something we could use for games like tug of war, but it just has not held their attention. That said, I may just have picky dogs, so this could be a different experience for others. The reason I gave it two stars instead of one is because the quality is actually quite nice. It feels well made and has a good overall design. However, I would be a little cautious giving it to aggressive chewers, as it seems a bit on the softer side. For dogs that are more gentle with their toys, it would likely be a better fit. The size is also great, and it has a lot of potential. It just has not gotten much use in our house, likely due to my dogs not being fans of the flavor. Overall, if you have picky pups like mine, this may not be the best choice. But for less selective or gentler dogs, it could still be a solid option

Stretchy, but Smaller & Softer Than Expected; Berry Fragrance Dominates; May be Best 4 Puppies
I was directed to read guidelines that were on the internet, prior to use. I was not expecting that and that was a big turn-off. Basically, it's all about liability, this product has the possibility of being torn apart and I am basically warned that if a piece is chewed off, that's bigger than a grain of rice, to toss, this. I was repeatedly reminded, again and again, and again that pet safety was my responsibility. Yeah, I know that. All these suggestions and warnings should have been made clearer in the listing. Is this built to flex? Yes. Does it bend? Yes. Does it stretch? Yes. Is this rugged? That's open to debate, based on the users, for a puppy, to some degree, but their teeth are very sharp. Is this soft on teeth? I don't disagree. Does this have a durable design? Depends on the user. Floats in water? I do not doubt it. Does this have an enticing scent? For a human, yes, for a pet? Depends if your pet loves berries. This is no pigs ear/bone, so, chewing is not a natural draw that I saw, which I think may be better, because this is soft and easier to tear to pieces than expected. To motivate the first time, I found it best to initiate the tug of war, but this is smaller than I envisioned too, causing me to have to bend considerably to participate. A tennis ball in a tube sock is longer. A two-dog tug of war works best with this. Nevertheless, it's a better toy than teaching pooch to have a battle using clothing, avoiding future attractions to my socks. There is some flexibility to this. Durability is an issue. I think this would have been more interesting if it had been made out of rawhide. It does have a comfortable grip, for a human, but the toy pays a price for that with what I would consider fragility. The berry fragrance dominates, it's nice for a human, but sorry, it ain't no bacon aroma. It's like a thick heavy rubber hose. Value? In hindsight, I just do not see the value I was expecting. I mean really, a grain of rice warning not to use. Durability at issue in my eyes. Country of origin? Vietnam. Is this perfect? Not in my opinion. Rating? A strong three (3) stars at best in my eyes. This is not for a tough chewer. I have to constantly monitor its condition. It does succeed as a tug toy, but it has more limitations that I was expecting. I hope my thoughts added a bit of information.

Bully proof?!
Size: 5 in
We have the cutest little pit/lab mix who destroys stuffed toys in about two seconds flat. It’s always a HUNT to find toys he won’t instantly shred. This brand has some of the best! They were in FiveBelow for a while and it was the only brand that stood up to him initially. He finally got through the first only after MONTHS so we bought a few back ups and they’re still going strong months later! They’re also not super heavy so these end up being the toys we play fetch with most often! 100% will be buying more in this line in the future!
