Review Quotes:
'Before the movement for black lives made black radicalism cool for millennials, Cedric Robinson did the work of excavating an intellectual history we rely upon today'
The Root

Review Quotes:
'Like W. E. B. Du Bois, Michel Foucault, Sylvia Wynter, and Edward Said, Robinson was that rare polymath capable of seeing the whole - its genesis as well as its possible future. No discipline could contain him. No geography or era was beyond his reach.... He left behind a body of work to which we must return constantly and urgently'
Robin D. G. Kelley, author of 'Freedom Dreams: The Black Radical Imagination'

Cedric J. Robinson is one of the doyens of Black Studies and a pioneer in study of the Black Radical Tradition. His works have been essential texts, deconstructing racial capitalism and inspiring insurgent movements from Ferguson, Missouri to the West Bank. For the first time, Robinson's essays come together, spanning over four decades and reflective of his diverse interests in the interconnections between culture and politics, radical social theory, and classic and modern political philosophy.

Themes explored include Africa and Black internationalism, World politics, race and US Foreign Policy, representations of blackness in popular culture, and reflections on popular resistance to racial capitalism, white supremacy and more. Essays here include:

*The Black Detective and American Memory
*Slavery and the Platonic Origins of Anti-Democracy
*Africa: In Hock to History and the Banks
*Blaxploitation and the Misrepresentation of Liberalism
*The Mulatta on Film
*Race, Capitalism, and Anti-democracy
*The Killing in Ferguson
*And much more!

Accompanied by an introduction by H. L. T. Quan and a foreword by Ruth Wilson Gilmore, this collection, which includes previously unpublished materials, extends the many contributions by a giant in Black radical thought.

Comfortable and stylish
This has been wonderful. My son is a game show host and has to wear a blazer to work on game days. He throws this in the back of his car when he’s done and it’s went through a lot and still holds its shape. The colors look great and it’s comfortable. He says it doesn’t feel heavy on and is easy to take care of.

What a great fun purchase!
How fun this jacket was!! Fit true to size. (XL pictured). Made well. Sequins help up well-they didn’t fall off. Bright color. Nice covered buttons with extras! Would definitely buy again. Got tons of compliments at event we attended. Paired great with dress shirt, bow tie, black jeans and gold light up shoes we also found on Amazon. Price point was great compared to others. Husband wears XL and this was very comfortable when sitting and also when buttoned standing up.

Jazzy!
Looked fine and fit just right. Sequins do rub the neck a little, if the shirt collar isn't high enough. Really got a jazzy feel to it.

Fit great, good price, and fast shipping for a last minute NYE dinner
Let me start by saying that I had very low expectations, all I truly cared about was getting something “blingy” as fast as possible for a last minute New Years Eve dinner. I was impressed by the speed of arrival, price & floored by the quality. Now of course, this is NOT a tailored $300 jacket, but it was great for our evening. Did not shed any sequins, no problems with wrinkles, and didn’t have any weird smells. My husband said it was comfortable, and he plans to wear it again should the need arise.
